TRAINAIR PLUS Full Member Award
SAA was awarded its certification, certifying it as a full member of the TRAINAIR PLUS Programme. Such certification attests to SAA’s high standards in developing and advancing aviation training and capabilities and also affirms SAA’s commitment and ongoing efforts to drive and advance international training programmes. On 25 September 2012, Mr Mohamed Elamiri, Deputy Director, Safety Management and Monitoring, Air Navigation Bureau, ICAO presented DG with a plaque commemorating this certification during the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Global Symposium.

 

 


34th Edward Warner Award
In 2000, SAA was conferred the prestigious 34th Edward Warner Award by the ICAO Council. The award is regarded as the highest honour in the world of civil aviation as it was given by ICAO on behalf of its 185 Member States.




1996 Flight International Aerospace Industry Award
In 1996, SAA was already recognised for its outstanding contribution and excellent achievements in the industry when it won the 1996 Flight International Aerospace Industry Award for training. It was commended as a world class training centre providing a "level and breadth of training unique in the Asia-Pacific region"







ISO 9001 Certification
In 1996, SAA was awarded the ISO 9001 Certification for the design, development, conduct and administration of its training programmes. SAA was the first civil aviation training institution in the world to receive the certification.


Centre of Excellence
In 1977, SAA was designated by the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) as a Centre of Excellence for training in air traffic control, aircraft fire-fighting and rescue and aeronautical information services.
