The Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA), established in 1958, is the internationally-recognised training arm of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. Aspiring to be a top aviation academy in the world, SAA offers a wide range of operational and management programmes that benchmark international standards and best practices to meet the training needs of the global aviation community. SAA offers four main streams of aviation training through its four specialised schools:

Upcoming Programmes

Airport Operations(Jointly organised with Cranfield University), 20 - 22 Feb 2017
This course equips you with knowledge and practical applications to manage a comprehensive spectrum of airport operations activities including airside, terminal, landside and cargo operations, customer service, emergency planning, airport safety and security management. You will learn the decision making considerations for an airport business recovery plan following an incident or process change.

Airline Business Simulation(Jointly organised with Cranfield University), 23 - 25 Feb 2017
This course equips you with the necessary skills to make effective executive presentations within an airline business gaming environment. You will also be provided with the opportunity to develop your critical reasoning and analytical skills to enhance your ability to work effectively in a group. You will learn how to apply strategic thinking to stay ahead of the competition in the dynamic aviation industry.

Airport Ramp Operations and Management, 3 – 21 Apr 2017
This course provides you with an understanding of the intricacies and complexities of the airside environment and the required skill-sets and knowledge to achieve higher operational efficiency and safety in airside operations.

ICAO Training Package: Personnel Licensing(PEL) System, 3 – 7 Apr 2017
This course provides you with an understanding of the fundamental concepts and principles to set-up an effective personnel licensing (PEL) system in a PEL office. Additionally, it equips you with the essential know-how and attitudes to manage the PEL system. This should facilitate the answering of the ICAO's Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) Continuous Monitoring Approach PEL Protocol Questions (PQs). Using a blended learning approach, this course comprises both e-learning and classroom delivery.

On 26th August 2016, SAA held its 4th Aviation Insight Series (AvIS) talk for the year, attracting some 70 participants to learn more on the topic of “Reaching Out: Next-of-kin (NOK) Communication Strategies and Media Relations”.

SAA Aviation Insight Series on Emergency Preparedness: Airport Exercise Planning, 17 August 2016
On 17 August 2016, the Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA) presented a talk under the SAA Aviation Insight Series (AvIS) on “Emergency Preparedness: Airport Exercise Planning”, attended by over 60 aviation professionals.
