The Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA), established in 1958, is the internationally-recognised training arm of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. Aspiring to be a top aviation academy in the world, SAA offers a wide range of operational and management programmes that benchmark international standards and best practices to meet the training needs of the global aviation community. SAA offers four main streams of aviation training through its four specialised schools:

Upcoming Programmes

State Safety Programme Implementation, 22 – 26 Jan 2018
This course will provide you with the knowledge and competency on ICAO Annex 19 SARPs Safety Management and ICAO Doc 9859 Safety Management Manual (SMM) guidance material pertaining to State Safety Programme (SSP) implementation and administration.

Aeronautical Information Services – Aeronautical Information Management, 19 – 23 Mar 2018
This course will provide you with an understanding of how aeronautical information and data is managed by an AIS Provider (AISP). Building on this basic foundation, you will also be provided with insights into the ICAO Roadmap for the transition from AIS to AIM and System Wide Information Management (SWIM) in the context of the ICAO Aviation System Block Upgrades (ASBU).

Airport- Collaborative Decision Making, 23- 26 Apr 2018
The course provides you with an understanding of the principles of Airport-Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) in the context of airport operations, and covers the techniques of how to design and implement the procedures and tools for an effective A-CDM implementation at the airport. This course is designed in accordance to ICAO Doc 9971.

ICAO Standardised Training Package: Operational Hazard Identification and Risk Mitigation, 7 – 10 May 2018
This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to develop and apply hazard identification and safety risk mitigation (HIRM) tools in the context of a Safety Management System (SMS) and State Safety Programme (SSP). The fundamental HIRM processes in this course is based on guidance materials in ICAO Safety Management Manual (Doc 9859, 3rd Ed) with various enhancements as appropriate. This competency-based training has been developed in accordance with ICAO TRAINAIR methodology (Doc 9941).

Airport Commercial Development Programme, 4 – 8 Jun 2018
This programme will provide you with an understanding of airport business and practical applications of commercial management and planning. The success factors in growing non-aeronautical revenue will also be addressed.

On 2nd November 2017, SAA held its 5th Aviation Insight Series (AvIS) talk for the year, attracting some 30 attendees from the Singapore aviation industry

Symposium on Airfield Infrastructure of Airports, 2 - 3 October 2017
SAA successfully conducted the inaugural run of the Symposium on Airfield Infrastructure of Airports – Engineering and Future Development (SAIA 2017) from 2 to 3 October 2017. The 2-day Symposium is supported by CAG and NUS.

Aviation Insight Series on Research and Advancing Aviation, 27 September 2017
On 27th September 2017, SAA held its 4th Aviation Insight Series (AvIS) talk for the year, attracting some 62 attendees from the Singapore aviation industry.
