The Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA), established in 1958, is the internationally-recognised training arm of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. It offers a wide range of operational and management programmes that benchmark international standards and best practices to meet the training needs of the global aviation community. SAA is an ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Full Member, ICAO-endorsed Government Safety Inspector Training Centre and ICAO Aviation Security Training Centre.
Upcoming Programmes

Safety Oversight of Aviation Meteorological Services, 30 June – 2 July 2014
The course provides a better understanding of State safety oversight functions and activities relating to aviation meteorology in accordance with the ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices in Annex 3, ICAO Doc, ICAO Doc 9837 and ICAO Doc 9873 for effective regulation.

Understanding How Complex Aviation Accidents Happen: Unifying Risk Management, Investigation and Oversight, 25 April 2014
Risk management centers on the analysis of hazards involved and how they can be controlled to ensure that accidents do not happen. Understanding this process allows us to not only proactively prevent accidents, but also provide a structure that supports accident investigation and the oversight process. Models currently used, whilst very successful to date, have not been completely successful in preventing all accidents.

SAA-EASA Composite Materials Seminar – 14 to 16 April 2014
The Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) recently organised the inaugural SAA-EASA Composite Materials Seminar held at the SAA on 14 to 16 April 2014. A total of 136 local and overseas participants from 43 aviation organisations took part in the seminar.
 
CAAS On-site Programme: Auditing Techniques for Regulators Course - 17 to 21 March 2014
SAA conducted its second onsite training programme in Palau from 17 to 21 March 2014. The Auditing Techniques for Regulators Course gave participants an understanding of the fundamental requirements, principles and practices of auditing related to the safety oversight obligations undertaken by civil aviation authorities in response to the ICAO requirements for States to implement an effective regulatory and safety oversight system.
