The Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA), established in 1958, is the internationally-recognised training arm of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. Aspiring to be a top aviation academy in the world, SAA offers a wide range of operational and management programmes that benchmark international standards and best practices to meet the training needs of the global aviation community. SAA offers four main streams of aviation training through its four specialised schools:

Upcoming Programmes

Safety Case Development and Review, 23 – 27 Oct 2017
This course is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to develop and evaluate safety cases for safety projects. You will be able to critically assess safety case arguments, explain the regulatory context for a safety case development as well as relate the development and maintenance of safety case to a project lifecycle.

Air Disasters: Crisis Planning and Business Continuity Management, 6 – 10 Nov 2017
This course provides you with the fundamental tools on crisis planning and response after an air disaster and is led by a team of professionals with practical knowledge and experience in crisis planning.

ICAO Training Package: ICAO GSI Airworthiness - Air Operator & Approved Maint Org Certification, 6 – 23 Nov 2017
This course provides you with an understanding of the basic concepts and steps involved in certifying maintenance organisations and air operators from airworthiness perspective. You will be taught the five-phase certification process based on ICAO SARPs and Model Civil Aviation Regulations (MCARs).

Human Factors in Aviation Workshop, 27 Nov – 1 Dec 2017
This workshop provides you with an understanding of the concept of human factors in air traffic services (ATS) and the corresponding training requirements to meet the licensing standards set by the ICAO Annex 1 (Personnel Licensing). It also focuses on the disciplines of human factors, their applications and ways to improve human performance in ATS.

SAA Aviation Insight Series on Systems Design Innovation in Aerospace Engineering and Beyond, 30 June 2017
On 30th June 2017, SAA held its 3rd Aviation Insight Series (AvIS) talk for the year, attracting some 35 attendees from the Singapore aviation industry.

6th World Civil Aviation Chief Executives Forum, 11 to 13 July 2017
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) organised its 6th World Civil Aviation Chief Executives Forum (WCACEF) from 11 to 13 July 2017. The event was attended by over 150 aviation leaders from 75 countries and 14 international and regional organisations. Themed “Advancing Aviation; Fortifying Fundamentals”, the Forum discussed the core challenges facing the aviation industry and how leaders can seek opportunities to develop sustainable strategies to shape the future of aviation.

SAA re-certified as ICAO RTCE and Chairs TPSC, 11 April 2017
SAA has been re-certified as an ICAO Regional Training Centre of Excellence (RTCE) for the next three years. On 11 April 2017, the RTCE plaque was presented to SAA at the ICAO Global Aviation Training and TRAINAIR PLUS Symposium held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 11th to 13th April 2017.
