On 7th February 2013, Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA) presented a talk on “In a Period of Structural Instability – What Next for the Airline Industry”. Sharing the session was Professor Rigas Doganis, Chairman of the European Aviation Club. He is also a visiting Professor at Cranfield University and the Non-Executive Director in easyJet.
Prof Doganis shared on the recent and future challenges facing the industry as well as the airlines’ responses to these challenges. He also explored how these responses affect the structure of the airline industry, and delved into how network airlines are exploring new business models to address these challenges.
Ms Margaret Tan, Director of Air Transport and Policy & Planning Divisions, moderated the question and answer session after the talk.
A total of 30 professionals from the airline and aviation industries attended the talk.
