New Air Traffic Control (ATC) training simulator added to SAA’s suite of training facilities – 3 September 2012

On 3 September, the commissioning ceremony of our latest Air Traffic Control (ATC) simulator, the Long Range Radar and Display System (LORADS) III was held at SAA. Singapore Minister for Transport, Mr Lui Tuck Yew was the Guest-of-Honour at the ceremony on 3 Sep 2012.

Developed by Thales, the LORADS III ATC simulator will be employed to provide basic and advanced training for CAAS air traffic controllers to operate the LORADS III ATC system. Its advanced functionalities, which emulate the human-machine interfaces of the actual ATC system, will allow ATC trainees to seamlessly transit from the training environment to the real-life operational environment.
