The inaugural International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) TRAINAIR PLUS Global Symposium, hosted by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) was opened in Raffles City Convention Centre, Singapore on 25 Sept 2012. Themed “How to prepare tomorrow’s aviation workforce with today’s training tools”, over 400 international aviation personnel and stakeholders gathered at the event to discuss aviation’s future workforce training challenges.
During the opening ceremony, the Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA) was awarded its certification, certifying it as a full member of the TRAINAIR PLUS Programme, along with six other training organizations. Such certification attests to SAA’s high standards in developing and advancing aviation training and capabilities and also affirms SAA’s commitment and ongoing efforts to drive and advance international training programmes.
The Symposium provided a platform for the exchange of views on the challenges as well as latest trends, techniques and best practices in the aviation industry while experts also addressed themes such as competency-based training, human resource development and the importance of partnership for successful training.
