The Singapore Aviation Academy(SAA) and Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC) jointly conducted the inaugural “Seminar on Building Air Traffic Management Capacity” from 20 to 22 May 2014. The 3-day seminar attracted a total of 45 international and local representatives from Civil Aviation Authorities, Air Navigation Service Providers, private and other government organisations. Mr Winston Au, Head of SAA’s School of Air Traffic Services (ATS) opened the seminar and welcomed speakers from ENAC, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore(CAAS) and Changi Airport Group (CAG).
Mr Laurent Fournier and Mr Philippe Notry, ATC Training Managers at ENAC shared various concepts on the flexible use of airspace and airspace management, as well as insights on the latest developments to the Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) Programme. Mr Kuah Kong Beng, Air Traffic Management (ATM) Operations Consultant, CAAS and Mr Steve Lee, CAG’s Chief Information Officer provided insights to the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) implementation at Changi Airport and key areas of the Asia Pacific Seamless ATM Plan and Singapore’s ATM Master Plan. The seminar concluded with a tour of SAA’s ATC training simulators and a site visit to the Singapore Air Traffic Control Centre (SATCC).
