On 14 May 2015, SAA received the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Green Mark Platinum award at the BCA Awards 2015 Ceremony.
The BCA Green Mark launched by the BCA aims to promote environmental awareness and the adoption of green building technologies. The BCA Green Mark Scheme rates buildings according to five criteria; energy efficiency, water efficiency, environmental protection, indoor environmental quality and other innovative features that may contribute to better building performance.
SAA achieved a total score of 95.5 points, above the minimum of 90 to qualify for the Platinum award. This was made possible by SAA’s retrofitting projects for the chiller plant and air handling units and other SAA-wide energy saving initiatives.
Notably, SAA is the 1st building under the Ministry of Transport family that has won the BCA Green Mark Platinum Award under the Existing Non-Residential Building Category.
