SAA welcomed 66 delegates from 23 countries and 3 international organisations, at the inaugural Global Symposium on Human Resources Development in Aviation held on 9-11 Jun 2015.
Jointly organised with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Symposium addressed the case for strategic human resources and training challenges in support of a growing aviation industry. Discussions centred on the need for a Chief Learning Officer, training plans and training needs analysis, accreditation and harmonisation of training standards, were amongst others discussed.
Mr Yap Ong Heng, Director-General, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and Capt Mostafa Hoummady, Manager, ICAO Global Aviation Training Office jointly opened the Symposium. As part of the three-day symposium,
Mr Yap also hosted a cocktail reception by the SAA Poolside before the delegates were hosted to a cultural tour around the Singapore covering attractions such as Marina Bay Sands and Clarke Quay.
